Hi All,
Today Indian Cinema completes 100 years of it beautiful journey. A journey that started on 3rd May 1913 with the release Raja Harishchandra directed by the iconic Dadasaheb Phalke.
The world recognizes Indian Cinema or Bollywood for that matter for its very special way of story telling where it uses Music & Dance as integral pillars. As an Indian I feel that our very life revolves around cinema. It's part of our dinner table discussions, it helps to make our boring travel interesting, and many more places wherever you look ,you will find people influenced by it.
SO..the question that I ponder upon today is the one that has been in my mind for a very long period of time..it is..How can a 3 hour movie have so much power that it can influence 100 million lives???
Well, the credit for this can be shared by numerous hardworking and talented people who creations have meant that we have such a great legacy to be proud of.
The writers who have written stories that we can connect to, The directors to who have ensured that these stories convey on screen the same beautiful idea that it conveys on paper, The composers & singers who ensure that we have songs which we will on go humming even when we are out of the theaters, The Choreographers whose creative dance moves have not only ensured that our parties are lively but also given an identity to Indian Cinema....... and at last the most important of them all the actors...the Khans,the Bachchans, the Kapoors, Kumars n god only knows how many others...they have ensured by that by their immaculate talent they have brought those characters to life & in a way such that they are now one of us.
They have insured that :-
every friend who speaks the truth becomes "Harishchandra ki Aulad"
every strict boss is "Mogambo"
every romantic couple is "Raj & Simran"
good friends are "Jai & Veeru"
father in laws are "Gabbar"
mother in laws become "Lalita Pawar"
& every bald Guy is "Shakal"
It is the power of Indian Cinema that we have such Characters in our life to add a little spice to it & make it little interesting.
Today to celebrate this big occasion, 4 of the biggest directors of Bollywood today have come together with a movie that is tribute to this 100 years of excellence..Wishing them all d best I end today still in wonder & looking for your views on
