The Blue's did it again, just when you think that they are down & out, they comeback & do something out of the box.
Well who could have said 6 months back with the team relegated from Champions League group stages & in process become the first champions to be relegated in that manner which led to the departure of miracle man Robert Dematteo & the arrival of the hated Rafa Benitez to Stamford Bridge that this team can do this.
But, as they say Lord works in mysterious ways, Chelsea not only qualified for next seasons champions league, but their relegation from Europe's Elite club tournament meant that they now hold the unique record of holding both the Champions League & Europa League title at the same time. Also for they next 10 days they can boast on this fact to claim that they are the best in Europe.
All this while Torres & Mata have become the 3rd & 4th player in the world to win the World Cup, European Cup, Champions League & the Europa League in their career but their unique distinction is that they hold all the four trophies all at the same time..pretty cool...:D
Well, it can be only attributed to Chelsea's magic that has made these achievements a reality or can their be any other reason.
Well in this case their can another reason, though freakishly unlikely many can claim that it's the Curse of their previous coach Bela Guttmann that is responsible for Benfica's loss. Guttmann was a phenomenal coach under whom Benfica won two consecutive league titles in 1960 & 61, also two European cups in 61 & 62 beating the mighty F.C.Barcelona & Real Madrid F.C. respectively. But, at the end of the 62 season when Guttmann approached the Benfica directors with a request for pay rise he was rejected despite the fabulous record. Guttmann left allegedly cursing the club, declaring "Not in a hundred years from now will Benfica ever win a European Cup". The club has reached 7 European finals in the 51 years hence but they still hunt for glory.
Whatever the reason we have now new champion in Chelsea & now I'm hoping that the European Super Cup is played against Bayern if they go on to win the Champions League, & we could have seen the Rematch of last years final with both teams having their reputation at stake.
Nevertheless, let's enjoy this particular moment.

Dude!!! European Super Cup is going to held this year at the Edens Arena, Prague. Didn't you heard the news huh!!!!
